LET ME SHOW YOU

And you got fixed up to the nines
Let me show you a few things
All pressed up in black and white
And you’re dressed in that dress I like
Love is swinging in the air tonight
Let me show you a few things
Let me show you a few things
Show you a few things about love
While we’re in the swing of love
Let me show you a few things
Show you a few things about love

DISMISSED

“Lose My Breath” is an R&B and hip hop song performed by Destiny’s Child. It was written by Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Rodney Jerkins, LaShawn Daniels, Fred Jerkins III, Sean Garrett, and Shawn Corey “Jay-Z” Carter for Destiny’s Child’s fourth studio album, Destiny Fulfilled (2004). The song was already developed by Jerkins before it came to Destiny’s Child. After hearing the song, they altered it with help from Jay-Z.

“Lose My Breath” was released as the album’s lead single in late 2004, considered as their comeback after a three-year hiatus. The single was critically and commercially successful, receiving positive responses from critics and the public. “Lose My Breath” reached the top spot on most charts in Europe, making it one of Destiny’s Child’s most successful single releases.

The song was nominated at the 2005 Grammy Award for “Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo Or Group”. The single’s music video, which features Destiny’s Child in three characters, also received nominations.

SUNSHINE

“Umbrella” was released worldwide on March 29, 2007. The song was originally written for Britney Spears, whose label rejected it. “Umbrella” is a pop and R&B song and lyrically it refers to a romantic and platonic relationship and the strength of that relationship. It is generally considered Rihanna’s signature song. “Umbrella” was well received by music critics, many of whom appreciated the “ella, ella” hook as well as the covincing vocals with which she deilvered the chorus. Entertainment Weekly ranked the song number one on the 10 Best Singles of 2007, while Rolling Stone and Time listed the song at number three on the 100 Best Songs of 2007. The song has earned Rihanna several awards and nominations. In 2007, the song won two awards at the MTV Video Music Awards, when it was nominated for four. At the 50th Grammy Awards, “Umbrella” also earned Rihanna and Jay-Z a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in addition to receiving nominations for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

The music press has considered “Umbrella” as 2007’s Song of the Summer, while The New York Times regarded it as “arguably 2007’s signature slow jam”. In 2009 Pitchfork ranked the song as the #25 song on list of The Top 500 Tracks of the decade. Entertainment Weekly put it on its end-of-the-decade, “best-of” list, saying, “In 2007, Rihanna had us all singin’ in the rain.” On Rolling Stone’s updated version of their The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, “Umbrella” was listed at number 412, making Rihanna one of the youngest living artists in that list. In October 2011, NME placed it at number 63 on its list “150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years”.

NAUGHTY GIRL

“Crazy in Love” is a song by Beyoncé, featuring Jay-Z. Knowles, Jay-Z, and producer Rich Harrison wrote the song for Knowles’ debut solo album, Dangerously in Love. After having been added to US radios on May 18, 2003, the song was released as the album’s lead single on May 20, 2003. The song was ranked as the 118th greatest song of all time on Rolling Stone’s updated 2010 list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. The song won Best R&B Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 46th Grammy Awards.

In MTV Making of the Video in 2003, Beyoncé described the videos’s conception: The video celebrates the evolution of a woman. It is about a girl who is at the point of a relationship. She realizes that she is in love, she is doing stuff she would not normally do but she does not care. It does not matter she is just crazy in love.”

Beauty Bites

YOU SAY "TOMATO," I SAY "TOMAHTO"!

They're packed with lycopene, which protects skin from the oxidation that results from sun damage and leads to wrinkles. Adding a little olive oil helps you absorb lycopene even better. Numerous studies have shown that eating foods high in lycopene is beneficial in warding off heart disease and several types of cancer such as lung, prostate, cervical, digestive tract and breast. Good sources of lycopene are pink grapefruit, guava, watermelon, and rosehips, but the most common and perhaps most powerful is the tomato.

ALMONDS, IT'S IN THE CRUNCH!

They're brimming with vitamin E, which neutralizes free radicals in your muscles and nervous system and enhances speed, coordination and balance. They also have good amounts of magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, fibre and are a good source of healthy monounsaturated fat. They contain more calcium than any other nut which makes them great for vegetarians who do not eat any dairy products.

FEELING A LITTLE BLUE?

Blueberries have highest antioxidant capacity of all fresh fruit: being very rich in anti oxidants like vitamin C, B complex, vitamin E, vitamin A, copper, selenium, zinc and iron. They neutralize free radicals which can affect disease and aging in the body. Been proved to preserve vision: Blueberry extract, high in compounds called anthocyanosides, has been found in clinical studies to slow down visual loss. They keep you fresh, active, fit, sharp, close to nature and in a good mood, as they are very good anti depressants.

BEAUTY BENEFITS OF GREEN TEA

Green tea contains antioxidants that combat free radicals. Free radicals are byproducts of the human body and cause damage to cells and tissues. The antioxidants neutralize free radicals so they cannot cause any harm. Free radicals are one of the causes of many illnesses and they are one of the reasons for our aging. Green tea drinkers appear to have lower risk for a wide range of diseases, from simple bacterial or viral infections to chronic degenerative conditions including cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, periodontal disease, and osteoporosis.
