LITTLE ANGEL

LITTLE SECRETS

Match Point is a 2005 dramatic thriller film written and directed by Woody Allen, and starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Scarlett Johansson, Emily Mortimer, Matthew Goode, Brian Cox and Penelope Wilton. Rhys Meyers’ character marries into a wealthy family, but his social position is threatened by an affair and the subsequent pregnancy of his brother in law’s ex-girlfriend, played by Johansson.

The film treats themes of morality, greed, and the roles of lust, money, and luck in life, leading many to compare it to Allen’s earlier film, Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989). It was produced and filmed in London after Allen had difficulty finding financial support for the film in New York. The agreement obliged him to make it there using a cast and crew the majority of whom were from the United Kingdom. Allen quickly re-wrote the script, which was originally set in New York, for an English setting.

The film was well-received by critics, especially in the United States, who saw it as a return to form for Allen. The writer and director was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.

FASHION IS A RELIGION

The September Issue is a 2009 American documentary film about the behind-the-scenes drama that follows editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her staff during the production of the September 2007 issue of American Vogue magazine.

The film revolves around the making of the Vogue September 2007 issue. It depicts the effort that goes into making the magazine, and the passion that Grace Coddington, a former model turned creative director and the only person who dares to stand up to Anna Wintour, has for the highly-regarded fashion magazine. In the film, Coddington is often portrayed as the leading victim to Wintour’s aggressive personality. However, the relationship between Wintour and Coddington reveals itself to be symbiotic as Wintour recognizes Coddington’s expertise and keen eye for design. In the end, Wintour approves most of Coddington’s ideas and they appear in the final version of the September issue.

Due to the popularity of the film, the September 2007 issue of Vogue that was documented in the film has peaked to prices between $80 and $115 on eBay, making it one of the most sought after Vogue magazines ever.

Beauty Bites

YOU SAY "TOMATO," I SAY "TOMAHTO"!

They're packed with lycopene, which protects skin from the oxidation that results from sun damage and leads to wrinkles. Adding a little olive oil helps you absorb lycopene even better. Numerous studies have shown that eating foods high in lycopene is beneficial in warding off heart disease and several types of cancer such as lung, prostate, cervical, digestive tract and breast. Good sources of lycopene are pink grapefruit, guava, watermelon, and rosehips, but the most common and perhaps most powerful is the tomato.

ALMONDS, IT'S IN THE CRUNCH!

They're brimming with vitamin E, which neutralizes free radicals in your muscles and nervous system and enhances speed, coordination and balance. They also have good amounts of magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, fibre and are a good source of healthy monounsaturated fat. They contain more calcium than any other nut which makes them great for vegetarians who do not eat any dairy products.

FEELING A LITTLE BLUE?

Blueberries have highest antioxidant capacity of all fresh fruit: being very rich in anti oxidants like vitamin C, B complex, vitamin E, vitamin A, copper, selenium, zinc and iron. They neutralize free radicals which can affect disease and aging in the body. Been proved to preserve vision: Blueberry extract, high in compounds called anthocyanosides, has been found in clinical studies to slow down visual loss. They keep you fresh, active, fit, sharp, close to nature and in a good mood, as they are very good anti depressants.

BEAUTY BENEFITS OF GREEN TEA

Green tea contains antioxidants that combat free radicals. Free radicals are byproducts of the human body and cause damage to cells and tissues. The antioxidants neutralize free radicals so they cannot cause any harm. Free radicals are one of the causes of many illnesses and they are one of the reasons for our aging. Green tea drinkers appear to have lower risk for a wide range of diseases, from simple bacterial or viral infections to chronic degenerative conditions including cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, periodontal disease, and osteoporosis.
